Cost of holiday in Coma Ruga. June 2015.

tour cost

The cost of the tour to the COMARRUGA PLATJA 3* hotel on the Costa Dorada was 990 euros for two adults, breakfast and dinner included. The hotel is located on the first beach line. Duration of vacation - 8 days, 7 nights. Visas were issued through a travel agency; we paid an additional 130 euros for two visas. Flight Kyiv-Barcelona and return Barcelona-Kyiv are included in the price. We rested in mid-June, the hotel was occupied by 50 percent, the majority were Russians. According to the reception staff, the peak tourist influx is in August, mainly Germans and Spaniards.

We didn't buy any excursions. But we traveled actively on our own.

The easiest way to get to Barcelona from Coma Roga is by train (an hour's drive) - the cost of 1 adult ticket is 6.18 euros one way.

In Barcelona we visited Park Güell, you can get there by bus or metro, the cost of the excursion for 1 adult is 7 euros. If you do not plan to go inside the architectural premises, a walk through the free territory of this park is free.

We also managed to visit the famous amusement park Port Aventura. Take the train from the hotel to several stations, the fare is 4 euros one way. Ticket price for 1 adult is 45 euros. There are no restrictions on attractions; this is a payment for a full day of stay in the park.

The Costa Caribe water park, located next to the Port Aventura complex, can be visited by an adult for 20 euros per day. Tickets to the water park and amusement park were purchased at the hotel from the guide.

Food and products

Cost of food in the cafe: medium-sized pizza about 5 euros, sangria 5 euros. Bottle of still water 0.5 l 1-1.5 euros.

Products in the supermarket: teas for 1.5-2 euros 100 g, chocolate 1-2 euros.

Souvenirs and other goods

We bought women's sandals for 25 euros, beach flip-flops for 5 euros, and a straw beach hat for 8 euros. Magnets for 1-5 euros.

Impressions from a holiday in June

Holidays on the southern coast of Spain at this time of year are more suitable for excursion trips. The hotels are only half full, and mostly with Russians. The beaches are empty, the sea for swimming is cool. Visitors create a real stir in July-August, when the sea is already well warmed up; the bulk are Spaniards and Germans. In terms of price, of course, June is a more budget option. A tour for two will cost you about 1000 euros with departure from Kyiv to a hotel on the first line with breakfast and dinner. If the sea is not your main priority, then June will please you with the absence of crowds at the ticket offices of amusement parks, water parks and other places of public recreation.

Vacation with children

Coma Ruga is not a center of youth life and nightlife, but it has two big advantages: spacious, well-maintained beaches with fine sand and a smooth entry into the sea, as well as the location of the world famous amusement park Port Aventura, a 20-minute train ride away. The park has a lot of entertainment for both children and adults; one day is clearly not enough for you to explore the entire park.

What to take with you on vacation?

Just like when traveling to any other country, you need to take a first aid kit with the medications you usually use. The rest is little things that can be bought here in shops or supermarkets. There is everything - cosmetics, sunscreen, beachwear, shoes and much more.

Where is the best place to stay?

We stayed at the Coma-Rugla Platja 3* hotel. We were pleased with our choice, since the hotel is located on the first beach line, a minute's walk to the sea. Despite the fact that the hotel has only three stars, the service is excellent; the receptionist is usually Maria, a Muscovite. He communicates well in Spanish, Catalan, English, and of course, Russian. The bar staff is also Russian-speaking. There is no animation in the hotel as such, so everyone goes to the neighboring hotel of the same owner - Europe. There are flamenco dancers, children's discos, and live music, there is plenty of everything. In addition, the hotel is located close to the railway. station from which you can go to Barcelona, ​​Sitges, Tarragona and other interesting cities.

What to do at the resort?

In addition to relaxing on the beach during the day and attending concerts offered by animators in the evening, you can go shopping at the Mercadonna supermarket. There are more affordable prices and a good selection of different delicacies than in small shops in the city. Be sure to go to Barcelona by train. A one-way ticket costs 6 euros, spend an hour driving. Personally, we spent 3 days in Barca, during which time we saw almost all the main attractions of the city.

1. Amusement park "Port Aventura" - 20 minutes by train - the highest roller coaster in Europe, entrance ticket at a fixed price, with free access to any attractions within the park. Ticket price 45 euros. If you don't want to stand in line for rides, buy an additional ticket and skip the line through the express ticket office.

2. Water park "Costa Caribe" - 20 minutes by train - among other slides, there is the highest open slide, 31 meters high. Price 20 euros.

The beach is clean. Almost empty in June. Sun loungers and umbrellas can either be rented on the beach, or at the beginning of your vacation you can buy them in a shop on the embankment, thereby saving money. The beaches have showers and a lot of cafes on the embankment.

Pros of a holiday in Coma Ruga

I consider the main advantage of this resort to be a clean, wide beach with convenient access to the sea, and a convenient transport interchange, which allows you to get to both Barcelona and Salou to amusement parks, Calafell, Sitges and other cities within half an hour or an hour.

Disadvantages of holidays in Coma Ruga

For a group of young people and lovers of nightlife, Coma-Ruga will be a bit boring. There are no discos as such here. The city comes to a standstill after ten o'clock in the evening. Hotbeds of fun remain only in large hotels, offering guests interesting concerts. If you come to relax from the hustle and bustle, you will really like this resort!

Events of ancient centuries are reminiscent of the history of the entire coast. The formation of the settlement of Coma Ruga in Spain dates back to the prehistoric era, to the times when Iberian tribes ruled the coast. The subsequent history of the area was also marked by pirate raids, Moorish rule and the subsequent Spanish conquest.

The development of tourism began only in the last century, with the construction of a water health resort, which settled near the thermal springs and was considered the best in Europe, thanks to the high iodine content along the entire Mediterranean coast. The healing properties of the springs and mud discovered here back in the 19th century gave impetus to the urbanization of Coma Ruga. Unfortunately, the sanatorium has not survived to this day. But the fame of the resort’s healing properties brought long-awaited tourists to the city.

Founded in 2008 in the forested area of ​​the city. It is a rope city that combines 4 routes of different levels. Minimum age of participants is 4 years. All sorts of adventures await kids here at a meter high. The difficulty of the sections is divided by age.

Coma Ruga is not considered an elite, fashionable resort. Rather, it can be called “family”, conducive to a relaxing holiday, and intended for connoisseurs of peace and tranquility.
