All Pattaya beaches and the best beaches of the resort - a description from personal experience. Choosing the best beach in Pattaya The cleanest beach in Pattaya on the map diagram

I already have reviews of the beaches, and (small island near Pattaya). All reviews are detailed, with full descriptions and photographs.

Pattaya, of course, is not the best place for secluded beach relaxation. If you're looking for a picture-perfect tropical paradise, look no further than the islands. The beaches of Pattaya are crowded, noisy, with developed beach infrastructure. On the central beaches the water is often cloudy, and you can also find garbage. There is a low tide season, during which the sea runs tens of meters away from the shore. The sand is not white, but yellow or yellow-gray.

The most well-groomed of Pattaya's beaches is the beach at Cape Pratamnak (this area is considered the most European and expensive). The palm grove, casuarinas, carefully swept paths, the absence of a road with cars along the beach - all this is a plus for Dongtan.

The northern beach and small wild beaches among the rocks around the Cape Dara hotel, and on the cape between Wongamat beaches and the beach in the center of Pattaya, are also good for swimming. Along Wongamat Beach there are densely packed high-rise buildings of expensive hotels, so they try to keep it clean, but it is quite crowded and there is not enough natural shade.

All Pattaya beaches

Before moving on to my personal selection of Pattaya beaches, I would like to recommend RoomGuru to the most independent audience - an excellent booking service, where you often find better deals on the hotel you are interested in. By clicking on the green button below this paragraph, you will be taken to the RoomGuru page with Pattaya hotels.

It is quite difficult to list all the beaches in Pattaya, because... the coastline is long and by law all beaches are public, but in practice, if the terrain allows you to limit the entrance to the beach, which is adjacent to the territory of a large hotel, the beach actually becomes private.

Beach at The Zign Hotel, Wong Prachan Beach

In the very north of Pattaya, the list of swimming beaches opens with the small, almost private beach of The Zign hotel and then behind it - Wong Prachan Beach (Crescent Moon), slightly longer than the previous one and overlooking. Entrance to the beach is through the Garden Sea View Resort. Both beaches are very small and little known, as they are considered private. Few people want to go to the very north of the city and go through the hotel to the beach area. However, this location also has its advantages - relatively uncrowded, not littered beach and a fairly clean sea.

Wongamat Beach

The main beach in the north of Pattaya, it is also called Naklua Beach. Since the territory of expensive hotels overlooks the beach, they try to keep it clean. In some places it works better, in others worse. There is a sidewalk along the beach, palm trees are planted, but there is not much shade. The strip of sand is very wide, and at low tide the sea goes even further and becomes very shallow. During high water, the entry into the water is quite abrupt.

There are enough sun loungers, massages and souvenirs on the beach; in the part of the beach that is closer to the center of Pattaya, there are several cafes and bars. Behind them begins a rocky cape, with huge boulders in the water and pretty beaches between them. There is a good view of the large arc of Wongamat beach and the high-rise hotels along it, many trees and almost complete silence. If you turn around the cape, you can walk along the sea; well-groomed small parts of the beach adjacent to expensive hotels, for example, Cape Dara, alternate with littered wastelands and mounds of empty shells among the stones. Both on Wongamata and especially on the rocky cape there are often impressive waves and wind. At low tide, large sharp rocks are exposed on the cape, usually hidden by water.

Pattaya Beach

The beach in the center of Pattaya is more of a place for parties and all sorts of noisy celebrations, parties, sunset and night promenades. Few people swim here, mostly local children. Many fishing boats at anchor, a noisy road and other urbanization, large expensive chain hotels such as Hilton and Holyday Inn, Festival and Mike Shopping Malls.

If we don’t talk about the cleanliness of the water, which, by the way, doesn’t look that bad, it should be noted that they try to monitor the cleanliness of the sand, on Wednesdays a day without sunbeds and umbrellas has been declared, along the entire beach there is a very pleasant wide palm alley for walking with sidewalk. In general, this place with its own specific but life-affirming atmosphere is a good option for watching the sunset and having a picnic.

Cozy Beach

A small beach on Cape Pratumnak, next to the hotel with the same name - Cozy Beach Hotel. Surrounded on all sides by the slopes of a hill overgrown with tropical vegetation, you can go down the stairs, several flights. It’s difficult to get to the beach without transport if you don’t live nearby. There is no public transport passing by, it’s a long walk from other areas and through vacant lots with construction sites, all that remains is either personal transport or a taxi.

The water on the beach is not much cleaner than on other Pattaya beaches, except that there will be less garbage in the water than in Jomtien. On one side, the beach is closed by a large hotel complex on a hill, Royal Cliff Hotels Group, on the other - a deserted cape overgrown with trees with a scattering of stones in the water. At this end of the beach, next to the stone spit, a storm drain comes out of the mountain into the sea, so it’s better to swim in the middle or closer to the Royal Cliff Hotel. The beach is about half a kilometer long, 20-25 meters wide, at low tide it becomes very shallow near the shore; to reach the depth you have to walk far ahead in ankle-deep water.

Mostly tourists from nearby hotels swim at Cozy Beach. In the morning there is quite a lot of shade from the trees on the beach, but there are also paid sun loungers, beach cafes and massages; they try to keep the sand of the beach clean.

Beach of Cabbages & Condoms and Asia Pattaya Hotel

Phratamnak Beach

Geographically, the beach is a continuation (and end) of the beach, which, in turn, continues. That is, physically it is one big line, without any pronounced breaks. The 5th alley of Pratamnak, near the Centara Grand Phratamnak Resort, leads to the beach. In total, the beach is about 500 meters long, immediately opposite the 5th alley it is a large wide area without natural shade, with well-groomed sand and sun loungers under umbrellas. If you go to the right, soon there will be a cape with a scattering of large stones in the sea and a gazebo, a not very well-groomed part of the beach. Strong waves are frequent here. If you go left from the entrance to the beach, there is a shady alley with a clean path and carefully swept sand and rows of sun loungers directly on the beach. Pleasant and quite quiet place, well maintained. The sand is yellow, not fine. Entry into the water depends on the height of the water. There are waves and wind. Overall a good place for Pattaya.

Dongtan Beach

Jomtien Beach

The most famous and longest beach in Pattaya. Not very clean, but still quite crowded. Along the entire beach there is a busy road, along which numerous regular tuk-tuks and taxis drive one after another. A large selection of cafes, markets, shops, convenience stores and stores, including several 7-Eleven. Housing for every taste and budget, from expensive hotels and condominiums to simple guesthouses and bungalows in the back streets. The beach itself offers a full range of entertainment for tourists: banana boat rides, jet skis, parachute flights and even hang gliding. Speedboats hang off the shore, their owners sit on the beach, waiting for clients. Along the beach there are sellers of everything under the sun, from cut fruits to rubies in a box.

The sea here is often dirty and very dirty; in the hot season there are large waves and impressive low tides, revealing what at other times is hidden by muddy water. Many winterers do not swim in Jomtien. But, nevertheless, this is a pleasant place for a walk, a picnic at sunset or just friendly gatherings under a palm tree. The sand on Jomtien is yellow and quite coarse. Part of the beach is occupied by rows of sun loungers under umbrellas, but there are also places free from them.

Bacco Beach

Ambassador Beach

Ban Ampur Beach

Behind Pattaya Marina is Baan Amphur Beach, long and deserted. Part of the beach is occupied by traditional Pattaya sun loungers under umbrellas and beach cafes. Along the entire beach there is a nice palm alley with a good walking path. The beach itself is very wide and at the far end completely unkempt. But completely deserted. During the season, the water here is azure and transparent, almost like on the islands; the depth begins immediately at the shore. Out of season there are waves, strong winds, low tide makes the entire coastal part very shallow and inconvenient for swimming, sea urchins and shells are thrown ashore. There is a small park with a playground near the beach and several large hotels in the area.

Map of Pattaya beaches (south)

It is worth pre-selecting the place where you plan to stay. The choice can be based on different criteria, but one of the most important is the presence of a convenient and beautiful beach, because this is what most tourists come here for.

For a relaxing family holiday, beaches located to the north are usually chosen. These are fairly quiet places, there are not many people here and therefore the area is quite clean.

Young people who cannot imagine their holidays without parties and get-togethers place a clear bet on the central zone. Naturally, such events attract a different contingent of people, and not all of them have good manners. To make it easier for you to make your choice, below we will look at the most famous and popular beaches.

The best beach spots of the resort

The southern part of the resort is especially attractive for recreation. In addition to beaches, there is a fairly good selection of shops, restaurants and cafes. In addition, in this area you can find truly secluded places and enjoy the lush greenery of nature.

Highlight of the North: Wongamat

When looking at the beaches in Pattaya, it is impossible to ignore one of the largest. Wongmat is located in the northern part of the city.

The beach is clean and this is largely due to the fact that it is adjacent to expensive hotels that keep order. However, it cannot be said that the entire territory is ideal. During high tide, you need to enter the water carefully; the bottom drops quite sharply into the depths. But when the water recedes, the sea may seem shallow.

If we talk about shade, which is very important on hot sunny days, then you can only find it under umbrellas and, in rare cases, near a few palm trees. They grow mainly near the path, which is paved along the entire beach.

There are not too many sun beds, sun loungers and tents for relaxation here and it is not always possible to find free space. The beach offers a picturesque view of hotels and high-rise buildings. In one of the areas you can see huge stones protruding from the water. They are a conditional division between private small beaches, some of them are well-groomed, but there are also completely abandoned places unsuitable for swimming.

This place is suitable for lovers of a calm, measured holiday. No noisy attractions.

Largest beach: Jomtien

If you don't mind a lot of people, trash and a little fuss, this is the place for you. In the area of the longest beach, Jomtien, there is something for every taste and price. And this, you see, is one of the advantages of the location.

In addition, there is a large selection of stores, some with reasonable prices and a good selection of goods.

Fans of outdoor activities and extreme sports will be able to appreciate another difference from the previous example. On Jomtien Beach you will find a wide variety of attractions: bananas, parachutes, jet skis, speedboats and hang gliders.

When you get to the beach on Monday morning, you may be outraged by the amount of garbage you see. It is not possible to immediately remove the consequences of picnics held here on weekends.

The cleanest beach: Dongtan

If you are looking for a place on the beach to relax with children, then you should take care in choosing a quiet and tidy place. This could be Dongtan. The vast area of the beach is carefully cleaned, the paths are swept, the sand is clean. It is especially good that the roadway is remote and there is only space for pedestrians in the neighborhood.

A separate advantage is the developed infrastructure:

  • Buildings with showers.
  • Toilet.
  • Garbage bins.
  • Internet distribution via wi-fi.
  • Massage services.

There are sun loungers on the beach, but there is also plenty of free space. You can hide from the sun in the shade of lush greenery, and have a snack in a cozy, quiet cafe.

It is difficult to name the exact reason why the beach is not very popular among Russian tourists. One option: because representatives of sexual minorities, to whom our harsh fellow countrymen are not too accustomed, gather on a small area of the beach. So here your holiday neighbors will be mostly Europeans.

Quiet place: Sai Kaew

If you have time, you should definitely visit the beautiful beach located outside the city. This place is located on the territory of a military unit. On weekdays there are few people here, which is a separate advantage. But even on weekends, when there are more vacationers, the beach maintains a pleasant, quiet atmosphere.

Small cafes and snack bars are available to tourists. The choice, of course, is small, but a holiday here is worth it. Firstly, perfect cleanliness, snow-white sand. Secondly, picturesque views.

You can go to the beach in an organized manner, using the services of special companies. A trip without lunch will cost approximately $15, with lunch the amount reaches about $22.

When going for the whole day, it is worth considering where and how you will eat, because there are no usual street vendors walking along the beach here.

Another feature is that you can only enter the territory through a special checkpoint, where you will be asked to leave a document as collateral: a passport or driver’s license. In such a case, you can take a copy.

Beaches of Koh Larn

Some believe that Pattaya beaches do not meet their high demands and go in search of better options in other places. So, just half an hour from the resort is the beautiful island of Koh Larn. You can get here in different ways, but the easiest and most accessible is the ferry departing from the Bali Hai pier.

Once you arrive on the island, you will see many tuk-tuks offering rides to the island's most popular beaches. In addition, you can rent a motorbike and choose your own vacation spot.

All beaches can be described as clean, snow-white with clear water. If you dream of snorkeling and admiring the underwater world, go to Monkey Beach. There are beautiful rocks and lots of greenery.

One of the large beaches is Samae. Everything here is comfortable and beautiful. There are plenty of options for active recreation, cafes and restaurants. The only thing I would like to clarify is that you won’t be able to sit on the beach without renting a sunbed.

Map of Pattaya beaches

If you look at the beaches on a map, you can visually divide the coastal zone into three parts: north, center and south. As experienced tourists note, each area has its own characteristics, pros and cons.

Are you going to Thailand? Don't forget to know the most important things:

conclusions

Choosing a beach is a rather difficult and responsible moment, especially if you are vacationing with friends or family. To get started, you can choose several options and visit them in person.

Especially resourceful and active tourists are sure to look for wild places that sometimes exceed all expectations, for example, a place near Cliff Bay. But the more information appears about a particular beach, the faster it loses its main advantage - privacy.

Travelers from Russia have long associated a holiday in Thailand with a mandatory visit to Pattaya. This cozy resort town has gained great popularity due to its convenient location on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand and well-developed tourist infrastructure. It is in Pattaya that everyone can feel at home: almost all signs, menus, and ATMs are presented in Russian.

This is what the city beach in Pattaya looks like

Of course, not everything is perfect here, and in some areas you may encounter such not-so-pleasant phenomena as smog, garbage and dirty seas. Therefore, it is better to study the most comfortable beaches of Pattaya in advance, so that you can then choose a hotel near them.

Detailed map of Pattaya showing all beaches

If you look at Pattaya on the map, you can see that this city consists of three main parts: northern, central and southern. The beaches in these areas are quite different from each other.

  • The northern part of Pattaya is rightfully considered one of the best places in the city for a quiet, relaxing holiday. There is little transport here, the beaches are clean and uncrowded;
  • The central part is more suitable for lovers of night club life. Swimming here is almost impossible due to garbage and a busy road near the beach;
  • The southern part has a good mix of lively bars and restaurants with good beaches. A separate pride of the southern region is Pratamnak Hill, where lush tropical vegetation and several small beaches for secluded relaxation have been preserved.

Wongamat Beach

Wongamat Beach is located in North Pattaya. Among the main advantages are:

There are no banana boats, water scooters or other noisy entertainment here. Only sea, sun and pleasant atmosphere. Wong Amat is surrounded on all sides by modern high-rise hotels.
Since they all have a harmonious architecture, there is no “concrete jungle” effect. Rooms in nearby hotels are quite expensive by Thai standards: you can expect from 3-4 thousand baht per day.

Hotel building with a swimming pool in Pattaya

However, it is not at all necessary to choose a hotel in the immediate vicinity of Wongamata: everyone is allowed on the beach. There are simply no serious disadvantages to the beach, but, nevertheless, there are several disadvantages:
  1. There are no cheap grocery stores like 7-11 or Family mart nearby. Of course, you can always have lunch at one of the nearby cafes. But if you just want to buy a bottle of water or ice cream, you can spend a lot of time searching.
  2. There are not many sun loungers, and there are often not enough for everyone.

Crescent beach

If you move further north from Wongamata, you can find a secluded place with a beautiful name - Crescent Beach (Crescent Beach). Even during the tourist season from December to March, it is not very crowded.
Crescent Beach is the quietest beach in Pattaya. It is often forgotten to be mentioned in guidebooks and is not always marked on the map.

Clean and deserted Crescent Beach

However, this is an ideal place to relax alone or with a small group in the lap of nature. There are several attractions near the beach that are definitely worth a visit:

  1. Temple of Truth. This is the only temple in Thailand that is made of wood. It resembles a huge fairy-tale tower, where you can meet amazing fantastic creatures from myths and legends. The entrance ticket costs 500 baht.
  2. A small water park on the territory of the Centara Grand Hotel. The slides and pools of the water park are skillfully stylized to resemble natural waterfalls and lakes.

The tourist infrastructure near Crescent Beach is rather poorly developed compared to other areas of Pattaya. This also has its advantages - you can take a break from the tireless Thai merchants who are constantly offering their goods and services. However, some benefits of civilization exist here:

Jomtien Beach

Jomtien is the largest beach in Pattaya. It stretches as a continuous sandy strip for six kilometers. To get to Jomtien, you need to drive to South Pattaya. Direct flights of local open minibuses do not go here, so you need to make a transfer. Let's give the simplest route.

Jomtien is a fairly clean beach, but inferior to the coast of North Pattaya. Compared to it, the following disadvantages immediately catch your eye:

  • Garbage in Jomtien is also removed, but not as quickly. After the weekend, on Monday morning you can often see bottles and bags left over from picnics;
  • A road runs along the beach. And although it is not as lively as in Central Pattaya, you should not expect a full-fledged outdoor recreation here.

However, Jomtien's pros often outweigh it, and many tourists live here for months at a time.

  • clean sandy strip and clear sea;
  • a beautiful shady grove of fan palms where you can hide from the sun;
  • toilets and showers (unfortunately, beaches in Pattaya are very rarely equipped with these benefits of civilization);
  • distance from the highway;
  • jet ski rental;
  • rescue service, which will come to the rescue in case of emergency.

Sun loungers on Dongtan Beach

The best time to swim in Dongtan is during the day before sunset. At dusk, sea urchins often gather here. It happens that the entire bottom is literally strewn with these creatures, and you can only swim in flip-flops or sandals.

I’ll start with a thought that may seem too categorical, but in which I was strengthened by my own experience and was convinced from the words of disappointed friends: there are no clean beaches in Pattaya. Right in the city itself. There are more or less acceptable ones for swimming. But you definitely won’t find clear water on the beaches of this city. And if you go to Pattaya as a beach resort, you can seriously spoil the impression of Thailand in general.

- this is a kind of oasis of fun and vibrant nightlife; people come here for specific entertainment, transvestite shows, which sometimes take place right on the street, but certainly not for clean beaches. If anyone comes here for them, he is greatly mistaken. The city is big, all the rain flows into the sea, so everything is logical. There is no need to despair, you can go to the island, there is the cleanest water, although the trip there and back will take considerable time.

But still, in Pattaya you can find acceptable beaches for relaxation, in addition, try out water activities, enjoy the proximity of the sea and beautiful sunsets, and in the surrounding area, with sufficient persistence, it is quite possible to find very beautiful places.

Pattaya beaches

Brief information. There are several areas in Pattaya, but if we look at the beaches, I will highlight Jomtien - the “Russian quarter”, Central Pattaya and Naklua - this is the northern part of the city.

Beaches of Jomtien

Jomtien is home to a large number of Russian tourists, but foreigners are also found here. Jomtien is easy to find, there are many sangthaeos (open buses) going here and it is a very large area. At the very end of it, near the Ambassador Hotel, they say there is a fairly clean beach, but I wouldn’t really trust these assurances, I’ll explain why later. The beaches here are very well equipped, with various cafes and benches within walking distance. There are many different types of water activities, bananas, scooters and parasailing are available, prices are average, you can bargain.

Here the coastal strip is wider than in Central Pattaya, so the views are better. It's nice to take a walk in the evening, there is no rush of Beach Road.

Beaches Beach Road

Let's talk about Beach Road, the beaches adjacent to which I call the beaches of Central Pattaya. The central beach of Pattaya is especially dirty, because there are many tourists in the evening. Water activities are also present, but I only saw that they used parasighting. Thais swim here too, but they are desperate people; after all, foreigners rarely take risks in this way. But you can sunbathe on it, there are always enough sunbeds, as well as umbrellas, the fee is reasonable. Local merchants may try to lure you into excursions or the process of applying henna tattoos. The latter entertainment is quite dubious; the tattoos are not of the best quality.

Naklua Beaches

Beaches around Pattaya

Military Beach, Sai Kaew

The most worthwhile place for a beach holiday near Pattaya is, of course, the military beach, or Sai Kaew in Thai. It is located on the territory of a military base. But everyone is allowed there only if they pay 100 baht and present a passport for safekeeping.

How to get to Military Beach

  • Taxi. In order for a taxi to take you to the beach and wait for you there, you will have to pay 1000 baht, but many foreigners do this without sparing money, because the beach is worth it.
  • Excursion. Having become a happy purchaser of the excursion, you will go to the beach as part of a group accompanied by a guide. He will explain where it is on the beach, but this, however, is already clear - the beach is small.
  • Independent trip. This is an adventure that deserves its own section. Next, I give instructions on how to get to the military beach on your own.
How to get to military beach on your own

Step 1. Select a white songthaew, drive to Bang Sarai, which is behind the water park, carefully monitor the road, see posts and gates of the military base, brake the songthaew (the button on the top is white, it beeps when pressed). We pay 50 baht. The alternative is a minibus, then we pay 100 baht.

Step 2. We go through the gate, present our passport, sign in the register, and enter the base.

Step 3. We wait for transport at the base and go all the way to the beach. On the way we pass another checkpoint, where we pay 100 baht. In total, round-trip transportation costs are a maximum of 300 baht or 600 rubles (approximately, the exchange rate varies) per person.

How did we do it? We got to the base by hitchhiking in the back for free, we first walked to the beach, but even then some nice Thai girls gave us a lift when there were still two kilometers left. Remark: Thais willingly give rides to lost, unlucky foreigners, they even stop themselves and offer help. In general, I am delighted with the helpfulness of these people, but this is a separate topic.

What is the military beach like? It is equipped, comfortable, there is a cafe and changing cabins, and you can rent sunbeds. And finally, here you can, without any pretense, cling to the chest of the Gulf of Thailand and enjoy the purity of the sea water.

Bang Saraya Beach

There are always a lot of boats on the water of the beach, this is a fishing place, in the village itself there is a market where fresh and just cooked fish are sold. Here the dogs begin to show hostility towards a foreigner who has wandered far away and may even bite.

How to get to Bang Saray

There are several ways, but I wouldn’t recommend taking a taxi, it’s expensive and not worth it. Motosai, taxis on bikes, will take you there cheaper, but the distance is long, it can be dangerous and inconvenient. The best way is the white songthaew, which runs along Sukhumvit, the most important transport artery of Thailand. It’s white, blue ones drive around the city itself, and white ones drive around Sukhumvit from Pattaya to Sattahip, the trip will cost 30 baht to Bang Saray, it’s important not to miss the stop, this is the largest village after Pattaya, right behind the water park. You can also slow down in a minibus, there is more comfort here, the driver will tell you where to disembark, the cost will be 20 baht more.

A note at the very end. Particularly curious travelers also explore other beaches near Pattaya, especially praising Sattahip Beach, but it needs to be carefully navigated through numerous turns, since this city itself is a port city.

They lie that there are no good beaches in Pattaya! People come here exclusively to walk and drink, and the sea is somewhere else. But what should all those who came here to live do? And how can it be, because the city is located on the shore and stretches along the sea. is it so bad?

For us, this question was also very relevant, since we came here to live, but living in a resort town without the sea is somehow completely wrong.

Of course, there is the island of Koh Larn nearby, but what nonsense is it if a simple trip to swim turns into a hike with a week’s preparation! You have to get up very early, go and find a place in a small parking lot next to the pier, ride 40 on the ferry, then 15 minutes in a minibus, then swim for an hour and it’s time to get ready to go home, because it’s time. And at every stage, pay, pay, pay! No, this definitely doesn't suit me. That's why we started choosing the best beach in Pattaya not on the islands so you can just come and shop. Today we will speculate In which area of Pattaya is the best beach, cleaner sea and generally more pleasant to relax?.

I will not make some kind of rating of beaches, but will only describe my feelings from each of them, because... I swam at each of them at least 10 times and I can say what I liked and what I didn’t like. In addition, I have a large and detailed article about each and you can safely read all the details.

PySy: we don’t touch the islands, only the beaches in the city and nearby.

Jomtien

The longest beach in Pattaya. Among the advantages, I would especially highlight the presence of good safety zones in the water (after drunken foreigners on jet skis flew into a crowd of swimming people, thick plastic paths along the sea were installed there, it is very fun to walk and dive on them, and it is safe to swim inside), and the second plus is a large number of cafes and massage parlors. That's all. Seriously, there is nothing else good on the beach because it is dirty and very noisy because of the road. Walking along the sea is so-so, because the sand is soft and you constantly fall through, and also step on someone’s leftovers.

But if we had the question “Where to go for a walk in the evening,” then we always went to Jomtien, it was either its night market, then walked along the pedestrian area along Pratamnak beach (This entire distance is covered in 30 minutes), then on the way back we did massage and went somewhere for dinner. The way back was already unpleasant, because in the humid Thai air we turned into sweaty slugs and all the romance disappeared. But there is nowhere else to go, because... in other places there is nothing at all, and in the center there is screaming music and peasant women, which is also a so-so alternative.

Pratamnak

Pratamnak is located within the city and it smoothly flows into Jomtien! I would say that this is the best beach within the city. All highways go around it, which means it’s pretty quiet there. There are not a large number of small cafes and shops, which means most of the garbage ends up on Jomtien, there are not a large number of people, which means there are no boats with jet skis!

But there are cozy sunbeds to which any food and drinks will be brought to you, there is a good line of trees and you can calmly lie in the shade, almost throughout the entire beach there is free Wi-Fi, which is enough for viewing small sites. That is, this is a good candidate for the title “Best Beach in Pattaya”.

But, of course, not without a catch. I don’t know why, but Pratamnak is a gay beach. A rainbow flag flutters over almost every sun lounger, and in the evenings cute boys gather here looking for foreigners for the evening. Don’t let children go to this beach in the evening, because not everyone can stand the sight of skinny, dyed-over Thais kissing fat old Europeans. Although, of course, I'm exaggerating. Such couples often hug each other there, but there is no debauchery on the beach.

Beach near the Asia Hotel

I can’t call it anything else, because it really is the best guide. A very small beach just for our own people, located in a cozy bay, so it is sheltered from the wind, waves, and boats.

The downside is that after 10.00 all the sunbeds are already occupied, and there are no trees with shade, so arrive early.

Cozy Beach area beach

The beach, like the entire area, is very isolated and it’s not easy to get there. But speaking about the beach itself, I didn’t really like it. On the one hand, it is quite clean and quiet, but on the other, 150 meters of sand are adjacent to: sun loungers, sewerage, speed boats. I don’t know how the division of water occurs, but it is very clear - on the one hand it stinks and oily rubbish, on the other there are people, food, clean water.

Central Beach

It's completely unclear here. I would say that this beach is not for swimming at all, because... it is simply crowded with boats, 200 meters from it there is the main pier, from which large ferries leave for the islands every 30 minutes, the bay itself in front of the central beach is filled with floating restaurants, from where glasses and leftovers fly into the sea.

But on the other hand, I often came here at 8 am to walk the dog. She rushed behind the waves, and I walked knee-deep in water. And you know what. The water was clean! Absolutely clear azure water. At this time, many tourists swim there, there were many compatriots who did not understand at all why people were dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the water, because, after our rivers, everything was perfect for them! But from 9 am, speed boats begin to depart en masse for the islands; the entire beach is literally filled with them. Well, the bustle begins, the noise of engines, crowds of people, dirt, and so on until late at night. Therefore, you can swim in the center, but only until 9 am.

Wongamat Beach

We only got to it the second time; the first time we simply didn’t find it, because the main road runs into some construction sites. But they praise him everywhere, so they continued to look for him. There are only 2 entrances to the beach (they are marked on the map in the main article) and at first I really liked it - a very long beach and a beautiful sea, silence, because... there are no roads, you can walk on the sand, but then something strange began to happen.

About every second time there was some kind of hell going on there with dirt! One day the sea was simply swarming with discarded plastic dishes. It’s really the first time I’ve seen that you have to swim and shovel cups with your fingers. And once my wife got into some kind of fuel oil right on the beach. The second trouble is the evening. We specifically went there after sunset to walk along the beach under the moonlight. But there is not a single lantern there! Pitch darkness and local teenagers on motorcycles! The hotels and condos there are good, but the beach is still not very well developed.

Military beach

Because We were always too lazy to get up early and go to the islands, so the military beach became a salvation for us! We went there to swim every time we were in these places. I liked everything here: the fact that you can find a quiet corner there at any time, that there is an organized shower and a clean toilet on the beach, because walking around salty makes me angry. I liked that there were free sunbeds, that the sea was always clean, that there were cannons at the entrance! Overall, I definitely recommend it.

But, of course, not without its drawbacks! On weekends there are too many people there, so much so that the soldiers don’t have time to clean up the garbage, and they can’t breathe in the sea. Not even swimming is ok. The second disadvantage of the military beach is low tide. At this time it becomes very shallow and the maximum depth of the bay is 1.5 m. Well, if you find yourself there on Saturday at low tide, then all your impressions will be ruined.

I’ll also add that entrance to the beach is paid - 100 baht per person.

Beach in Bang Sarey village

It is a little closer to the military beach. About 30 km from Pattaya, but this is actually its best beach! I like it even more than on the islands. There are a lot of people, but the beach is very, very, very long, so there are no problems with that.

But my favorite thing is the view of the city. I love swimming and looking at the Pattaya skyscrapers in front of me! By the way, this is the only beach where this is possible! If it weren't for the distance, I would without a doubt recognize it as the best beach in Pattaya. And so, in terms of travel time, it is comparable to the islands.
